Terms of Service for Valkyrie Tattoo & Piercing

By using the services of Valkyrie Tattoo & Piercing ("Valkyrie," "we," "us," or "our"), including our website, online booking forms, SMS communications, and in-studio services, you ("you" or "client") agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Services
Valkyrie Tattoo & Piercing provides custom tattoo and body piercing services at our studio located at 564 Huffman Mill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215. All services are performed by licensed professionals in a clean, safe environment. We reserve the right to decline any tattoo or piercing request at our sole discretion.
2. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to receive tattoo or piercing services. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at the time of service. Minors under 18 may receive piercing services only with a parent or legal guardian present, a valid ID from both parties, and proof of legal guardianship.
3. Booking and Appointments
Tattoo consultations begin with a booking request submitted through our online intake form. After your artist reviews your submission, you will receive a personalized quote. Appointments are confirmed upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit. All appointments are subject to artist availability.
4. Pricing
Our tattoo pricing is time-based. Rates vary by artist and are disclosed in your personalized quote before any deposit is collected. Your quote includes an estimated session duration and total cost. If your session ends earlier than estimated, you pay only for the time used. The remaining balance beyond the deposit is due on the day of your session. We accept cash and major credit/debit cards.
5. Deposits and Cancellation Policy
A 30% deposit is required to secure your appointment. Deposits are non-refundable.
- Rescheduling with 48+ hours notice: Your deposit transfers to the new appointment date. This transfer may be used once.
- Rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice: The deposit is forfeited.
- No-shows: If you do not arrive for your scheduled appointment without prior notice, the deposit is forfeited.
- Studio cancellations: If Valkyrie cancels or reschedules your appointment, your deposit will be fully refunded or applied to a rescheduled date at your choice.
6. Consent and Health Disclosure
All clients must complete a consent and waiver form prior to receiving services. You are required to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or health concerns that may affect the safety of your tattoo or piercing procedure. Failure to disclose relevant health information releases Valkyrie from liability related to adverse reactions.
7. Aftercare
Valkyrie provides aftercare instructions for all tattoo and piercing services. You are responsible for following these instructions. Improper aftercare may affect the quality of your tattoo or the healing of your piercing. Valkyrie is not responsible for complications resulting from failure to follow aftercare guidelines.
8. SMS and Email Communications
By providing your phone number and/or email address through our booking forms, you may opt in to receive communications from Valkyrie Tattoo & Piercing. We send two types of messages:
Transactional messages include appointment confirmations, reminders, aftercare follow-ups, and responses to your inquiries. These are sent to support the services you requested.
Marketing messages include promotional offers, new service announcements, and studio updates. Marketing messages are only sent if you provide separate, explicit consent through our opt-in checkbox. Consent to receive marketing messages is not required to book an appointment or receive services.
- Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- To opt out of SMS messages: Reply STOP to any text message from Valkyrie. You will receive a confirmation and no further SMS messages will be sent.

- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your consent to receive SMS is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at valkyrietattoonc.com/privacy-policy.
9. Intellectual Property
All tattoo designs created by Valkyrie artists are the intellectual property of the respective artist unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients receive the right to display their tattoo on their body. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of tattoo designs without written permission from the artist is prohibited.
10. Photography and Portfolio Use
With your explicit consent, Valkyrie may photograph completed tattoos or piercings for use in artist portfolios, social media, website content, and promotional materials. You may withdraw consent for future use at any time by contacting us. Existing published materials may remain in circulation.
11. Liability
Tattooing and piercing involve inherent risks including but not limited to allergic reactions, infection, scarring, and dissatisfaction with results. By receiving services, you acknowledge these risks. Valkyrie follows strict health and safety protocols but cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Our liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.
12. Refunds
Tattoo and piercing services are non-refundable once performed. If you are dissatisfied with the result of a tattoo, please contact us within 30 days. Valkyrie will work with you in good faith to address concerns, which may include a complimentary touch-up session at the artist's discretion.
13. Conduct
Valkyrie maintains a safe, respectful environment for all clients and staff. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service to anyone who is intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, behaves in a
threatening or disruptive manner, or fails to comply with studio policies.
14. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at valkyrietattoonc.com/privacy-policy.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via our website or email. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the courts of Alamance County, North Carolina.
